Through the analysis of the supervillain of the ´ comics known as Mr. Sinister, the article aims to relate the creation of his identity as a villain in a world of ink and paper with the historical background of our own world of lesh and blood. The result is an assemble where topics such as science history, evolutionary biology and techno-scientiic controversies provide justiication to a character that serves in turn as a relection rethinking the construction of possible worlds in the dialogue between science, iction and society.
