Within the framework of a doctoral dissertation, the authors question the capacity of Euro-modern indicators of creativity to assess how Indigenous peoples manage novelty. They are interested in what these indicators exclude ‒a generative faculty for which creativity is its “other”‒ which they call creaotrivity. Their research approaches radically heterogeneous singularities in Indigenous narratives through the lenses of cosmo-technics and multinaturalism. The authors seek alternatives to creativity and its measurements in an encounter between Indigenous modes of making and Western theorization.
