Transfigurative Poietic Realism and Contemporary Literary Creation

Abstract

This article aims to outline the aesthetic foundations of what is here termed transfigurative poietic realism (TPR), as a process of literary research-creation, drawing on autoethnography and hermeneutics. To this end, the author examines and analyzes the main philosophical underpinnings concerning the treatment of the concept of the real and the critical appropriations that the writer makes of this category. The article further addresses the boundaries between fiction and non-fiction, as well as the epistemological, deontological, literary, social, and political implications of this form of literary research-creation.
