Technological Convergences: Selection and Adoption

In this paper, the author analyzes and evaluates the factors affecting the selection and adoption of emerging technologies, which, by their nature and their fields of action, integrate each other to configure strategic focuses of technological convergence. The article addresses the specific case of nano-bio and info-cogno convergences, which are analyzed from a study of technological surveillance. The results help to envision a scenario through a viable roadmap for the consolidation of effective proposals, in which technological convergences could be facing the problems and meeting the needs that arise from the economic, ecological, and social dimensions.
