The purpose of this systematic review is to identify and analyze educational research trends in 142 studies on school feeding and food security programs in the educational context. Seven categories emerged from the studies reviewed: food security, waste and little use of food, food and curriculum, school cafeteria, programs on school feeding, biodiversity and school feeding and, finally, food and its relationship with the academic dimension. One of the findings is that food is not a multidimensional construct: in school practice and in the curriculum, it is reduced to particularly biological, nutritional and health issues.
