The article presents some of the results of the research “Nothing for us without us. Social inclusion of disabilities in higher education”, which seeks to investigate the conditions of people with disabilities in Ecuadorian higher education. During the pandemic, inequalities became evident, deepened, affected and excluded –even more– students with disabilities. In addition to addressing the structural causes of exclusion and debating cultural changes on alterity, the execution of reasonable adjustments and adaptations is required, which indicates the need to rethink and materialize the inclusion of disabilities to make effective the universal right to higher education.
