The Closet Tangle: Materialities, Subjectivities, and Corporalities of Latin American Women

The article reflects on the closet as a tangle, a physical entity that influences and produces effects on those who confront it. The authors’ overarching objective is to examine different scenarios in which the materiality of the closet shapes the processes of configuring subjectivities and corporalities. In the article’s conclusion, the authors propose the idea of seeing a body-closet, one with common distributions and a fusion of cultural tensions, conflicts, and the fluctuations of personal life.
