This article undertakes a reflective ‒and substantially critical‒ examination of the trajectory and creative work of visual artist Ricardo Muñoz Izquierdo, prompted by his recent nomination for the latest edition of the Premio Luis Caballero 2025, one of the most significant awards in the Colombian arts field. Without aiming to offer an exhaustive account of the artist’s career, the authors put forward a series of provocations arising from their own critical engagement with his work, concluding with a focus on the creative project Anoche, a la media noche (Last Night, at Midnight), which gave rise to a nomination for an award that recognizes the trajectory and maturity of artists working in the field of plastic and visual arts in Colombia.
