"Real Men": Warps and Contrasts Between Paramilitary and FARC Guerrilla Masculinities

The article posits an analysis of the production of male subjectivities in two illegal armed groups in Colombia: the self-defense groups and the FARC guerrillas. The authors consider that the recognition of the complexities that emerge from the ex-combatants narration is an opportunity to overcome the binary conceptions of victim / perpetrator and good / bad, and to understand how these masculinities, to a great extent, are an expression of what the state and military apparatus have produced.
