Utopian cartographies: death and redemption in Vallejo’s work

The objective of this article is the relection of the heterotopy of Medellin from the ictional novel of Fernando Vallejo, Our Lady of the Assassins, and also analyze how the novel re-examines historical and social contemporary and cultural processes. This text strives to demonstrate new forms of research in which ictional aspects are utilized to recreate, exemplify and contrast contemporary reality. At the same time, it demystiies utopias as creations of science iction in order to include them in the explanation and mastery of fears and desires within the individual and contemporary societies.
